A power battery is the source of energy that powers tools, most commonly referring to rechargeable batteries used to provide propulsion for electric vehicles, electric trains, electric bicycles, and golf carts.

Its main difference lies in the type of battery used to start car engines—typically valve-regulated sealed lead-acid batteries, open-type tubular lead-acid batteries, and lithium iron phosphate batteries.

On July 31, 2018, the National Monitoring and Traceability Management Platform for New Energy Vehicles and the Recycling of Power Storage Batteries was launched and began operations in Beijing.
